Casa Masquita

Nestled within one of the iconic Macanese houses at the Taipa Houses-Museum in Taipa Village, Casa Masquita invites diners to explore lesser-known Macanese dishes in a century-old mansion that overlooks the dazzling Cotai Strip.

Recognized on Macau’s Intangible Cultural Heritage list since 2012 and later included in the national listing in 2021, Macanese cuisine is deeply rooted in the city’s culinary landscape, showcasing a unique fusion of Portuguese and Chinese cultures. Casa Masquita is dedicated to preserving the rich legacy of traditional Macanese cuisine by offering authentic homemade-style dishes inspired by both Portuguese and Asian culinary techniques, drawing influences as diverse as Africa, India, and Malaysia, alongside Chinese traditions.

Led by executive chefs and brothers, Pedro and Mauro Almeida, Casa Masquita’s menu is a treasure trove of carefully curated Macanese delights. Each dish is meticulously crafted from recipes passed down through generations of Macanese families, capturing the essence of Macanese gastronomy. The menu features a variety of options, including fish, seafood, pork, poultry, and enticing snacks to stimulate your appetite. Highlights include Capela (Meatloaf), Curry Shrimp with Okra, Turmeric Iberico Pork, Stewed Blood Chicken, Fish Minchi, and a selection of delectable desserts.

The interior of Casa Masquita beautifully recreates the atmosphere of a traditional Macanese home, adorned with the owner’s collectibles, antiques, and local decorations, transporting each diner to a colonial-era feast steeped in history and culture.
