Taipa Village and 1st Hong Kong Kids International Film Festival
Taipa Village is delighted to be the festival partner of the 1st Hong Kong Kids International Film Festival (KIFF), with an aim to cultivate kids’ interest on movies at early ages and explore their talents in imagination and creativity. Being one of the supporters for KIFF, Taipa Village has sponsored three prizes to award the winners with outstanding achievements from the “Movie Pass Design Competition”. Each prize entitles each winner and his / her families to visit Macau, and experience an educational tour in Taipa Village, so as to allow our next generation to enjoy the unique experience of the authentic Macau.
1st Hong Kong Kids International Film Festival Program and Carnival
The 1st Hong Kong Kids International Film Festival (KIFF) and the KIFF Carnival are organized by DotAsia Organization and Golden Scene Company Ltd. and co-organised by ELEMENTS. The Film Festival will be held from 29th July to 6th August in The Grand Cinema, ELEMENTS and the KIFF Carnival is from 19th July to 6th August in ELEMENTS respectively. The Festival is pleasured to announce the renowned film star, Ms. Sandra Ng as the festival ambassador. The press conference of KIFF, alongside the prize presentation ceremony of 1st KIFF Pass Design Competition, has been held on June 11 at The Grand Cinema, ELEMENTS, signifying the launching of KIFF. Before the Festival, KIFF Carnival @ ELEMENTS will provide the public with a range of activities to arouse the public’s interest into the Festival.
10 brand-new and classic movies will be featured in this year’s Festival. To cater for the needs of different ages, the Festival is categorizing the movies into 3 streams: First Movie Experience, Parent & Child Movie Time, and Hangout & Film Appreciation. Films in First Movie Experience are suitable for kids from 2 to 5 years’ old who have never been to cinemas, they can learn to understand simple yet interesting stories from the big screen; Parent & Child Movie Time series are timely choices for kids aged from 6 to 11. They can enjoy the movie together and parents can utilize the post-screening time to arouse the discussion. Hangout & Film Appreciation selection are designed for teenagers from 12 to 16 years old so they can enjoy their leisure time with friends.
With the advent of the leisure summer time, the Festival has co-organized the KIFF carnival with ELEMENTS in order to bring a comprehensive and exciting sensory experience to kids and teenagers. The carnival will be held in the Water Zone (1/F) in ELEMENTS from July 19 to August 6 with the following activities:
- Virtual Reality (VR) Experience Zone, which enables the participants to engage themselves into the appreciation of our nature.
- Photo-taking Zone, in which the public can pick stills from all 10 movies to be the background of their photos. The photos can be obtained instantly by using the “Internet of Thing” technique.
- “Stop Motion” Animation Workshop hosted by the famous Freeze Animation Producer Emily Wong. The Workshop will be held from 2PM to 5PM (on July 30 and August 6 ONLY) respectively and will be opened to public registration.
